Oke-Osanyintolu said the response team arrived at the scene around 2am and discovered that it involved an ambulance vehicle with registration number JBD-405HA and an unmarked articulated truck.

He said preliminary investigations revealed that the articulated truck was hit on the side while on motion, which led to loss of control by the truck driver and he swerved into another lane.

He said the sudden lane change reportedly resulted into the crash.

He said the approaching ambulance rammed under the truck at top speed, resulting in the death of the ambulance driver.

He said, “Unfortunately, the ambulance driver got trapped inside the car and lost his life to the incident.’’
