A mob reportedly beat one John Udoh, a suspected burglar, to death in Sagamu area of Ogun State.
Udoh, alongside his gang of thieves, allegedly invaded the Aruba community in Sagamu at midnight and broke into the home of one Emeka Ruben where they reportedly stole a Lifan rubber motorbike valued at N1.2million.
Our correspondent gathered that the victim’s cry for help attracted the intervention
of youths who apprehended one Peter Ubong, a 22-year-old from Cross River, and John Udoh, along with their operational motorcycle marked SGM 387 WB.
It was further gathered that three of the gang of burglars escaped, but the mob held two and beat them severely, leading to the death of one, while the other was hospitalised.

The Police Spokesman, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident in a statement on Friday.
She said the suspects “were beaten severely by the mob, with one John Udoh being declared dead by doctors at Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, where his body was subsequently deposited in the hospital morgue.”
The Police publicist said the second suspect, Peter Ubong, is hospitalized with “a critical condition.”
Odutola said: “The arrested duo confessed that they were part of a five-member group responsible for the theft of fifteen solar street lights previously stolen from the community, as well as two other motorcycles.
“They provided the names of their accomplices involved in the crime in Ajaka, a part of the Sagamu division, and admitted to committing other burglaries in the Sagamu area.”
She added that operatives of the command have begun moves to track down the remaining suspects and recover the stolen motorcycle.
