Man docked for beating wife

The police in Kano have arraigned a man for allegedly beating his wife and inflicting serious injuries on her chest over a minor disagreement.

The suspect, Umar Inusa, had reportedly asked his daughters to go to the house of his other wife to have their launch, but their mother’s objection to the decision angered him and allegedly pounced on her.

He was charged with use of excessive power to which he pleaded not guilty and the Khadi Shamsuddeen Ado Abdullahi Unguwar Gini granted him bail on the ground that they are still husband and wife with children.
