The chairman of Abaji Area Council of the FCT, Alhaji Abubakar Umar Abdullahi, has appointed Alhaji Kamal Adamu Shuaibu and Alhaji Suleiman Salihu Kakamba as the new district heads of Ayaura and Sabon-Tasha communities in the area council.
City & Crime reports that Alhaji Shuaibu and Kakamba were, prior to their appointments, held the titles of Sarkin Gabas and Sarkin Pada under the leadership of the Ona of Abaji/Chairman of the FCT Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Adamu Baba Yunusa.
The council chairman, Abdullahi, made this known in a letter signed by the council’s Head of Administration, Mr Ajoze Sumaila, and obtained by our reporter on Tuesday.
He said the appointments of the two new district heads was premised on conditions that such appointments would be not hereditary in succession but lie on the government of the council to fill the vacant positions.

According to the chairman, the appointed district heads could also be removed whenever they were found wanting.
He said the functions of the district heads shall include mobilization of subjects to pay community dues, support government policies and programmes as well as mobilizing their subjects to embark on community self-help efforts.
