34 suspected kidnappers arrested in Delta

The Delta State Police Command said its operatives have arrested 34 suspected kidnappers across the state.

The Public Relations Officer of the Command, SP Bright Edafe, who disclosed to newsmen, said the suspects were arrested in Ughelli, Warri, Sapele, and other LGAs within the Delta Central Senatorial District.

Edafe also disclosed that 12 cultists, two fraudsters and four-gun runners were arrested.

He said three kidnapped victims were rescued, while the sum of N5.5 million paid as ransom were also recovered.

He listed firearms recovered from the suspects to include seven AK-47, one AK-49, one G3, six PUMP Action guns, nine LMG, 16 barreta pistols, 35 catridges, 53 ammunition and seven cutlasses.

The command’s image maker said the suspects were arrested by

the Commissioner of Police Special Assignment team (CP-SAT).
