Operatives of the Edo State Police Command have arrested three suspects over illegal possession of arms and cultism in the state.
The suspects, Friday Peter, 32, Gabriel City, 43, and Charles Aihkhieobare, 41, were arrested at Irue and Egbeiri communities in the state.
The command’s spokesman, Moses Yamu, listed the items recovered from them to include, one Beretta Pistol, one locally made revolver gun and two single barrel guns.
He said Friday Peter was arrested on September 5 by the Ehor police division based on actionable intelligence and a Beretta Pistol was recovered in his possession.

“On October 6, Gabriel City, Charles Aihkhieobare and Friday Peter were arrested during a raid on an initiation ceremony of Eiye Confraternity in Egbeiri Community along airport road.”
He said the operatives recovered one locally made revolver gun and two single barrel guns from them.
Yamu said the suspects have confessed to the crime and would be charged to court.
He said with the recovery, the command has demonstrated its resolve to mop up illegal arms used in perpetrating crime in the state.
