Corporate Stars League to debut Oct 19 in Abuja

The inaugural edition of the Corporate Stars League will kick off on Saturday, October 19, in Abuja, organisers have said.

During yesterday’s draws, Olumide Aturu, Managing Director of 5Star Consultancy Limited, highlighted the significance of the Corporate Stars League.

“We noticed a gap in the corporate space, and we believe the Corporate Stars League will bring professionals together to relive memories, network, and foster camaraderie,” he said.

Mouktar Ahmed from the National Pension Commission (NPC) shared his enthusiasm, stating the league provides a fun and networking opportunity, adding that sports is integral to NPC’s ecosystem. “When the chance to participate came up, management was fully on board.”

Williams Agbara from MTN expressed enthusiasm about their participation, noting that the team is eager to showcase their talents and compete for the championship.

Similarly, Labadan Yunusa from the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority emphasized how the league helps build connections across industries, fostering relationships that might not have formed otherwise.

The event also raised awareness about mental health, with Jakpo Ukueku explaining how sports provide a platform for people to connect, share experiences, and enhance mental well-being.

Running from October 19 to November 30, the league will conclude with a gala night and is anticipated to unlock new opportunities for the participating organizations.

According to the organisers of the football tournament, at least eight teams would participate in the inaugural edition.
