A suspected hoodlum narrowly escaped lynching when he fled into the bush abandoning a motorcycle he allegedly stole at Unguwar Abattoir in Abaji Area Council of the FCT.
A witness, Adamu Ishaku, said the incident happened on Sunday, around 1:20pm when the suspect scaled over the fence of one Malam Musa Ibrahim’s home and took his Jincheng motorcycle.
He said Adamu had gone to the mosque to observe the late noon prayer (Asr) when the suspect scale over the back fence, saying a neighbour who sighted him immediately raised an alarm.
He said the suspect immediately zoomed off, and some people gave him a hot chase on motorcycles along Toto road but he later abandoned the bike and fled into the bush.

“In fact, it was with the help of some Okada riders at the junction, who pursued the suspect towards Toto road that forced him to abandon the motorcycle and flee into the bush,” he said.
According to him, some vigilantes stationed at a bend along Toto road were alerted, which he said forced the suspect to abandoned the bike and run into the bush.
Recall that residents of Abaji Area Council have expressed concern over incessant cases of motorcycle theft, with about 13 bikes declared missing within the last one month in the area.
The spokeswoman of the FCT Police Command, SP Adeh Josephine, was yet to confirm the incident as at the time of filing this report.
