Gunmen attacked the Kachia urban community on Saturday night, abducting nine people.
According to residents, the assailants arrived around 9:30pm and began shooting, causing panic among the locals.
Hamza Idris, a resident, told our correspondent that people fled in all directions before the kidnappers reached their intended target.
The locals said the primary victim, Ibrahim Tasi’u Imam, Principal of Government Secondary School, Kachia Urban, was taken from his residence.

Imam is also an Islamic preacher at the Juma’at Central Mosque in Kachia and serves as Secretary of the Islamic organisation Fityanul Islam.
Other victims, according to the residents, include Alhaji Falalu, his wife, and two sons, as well as Alhaji Haladu Hamisu and his two sons. An almajiri boy who was nearby was also abducted by the gunmen.
Efforts to contact Kaduna State Police spokesman, Mansir Hassan, for comments were unsuccessful, as his phone was unreachable at the time of filing this report.
