Pogba to hit pitch next year as doping ban is reduced

Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has had his four-year drug ban reduced to 18 months.

According to Mail Sport, the World Cup winner’s original suspension, which commenced on September 11, 2023, will end in March 2025.

Pogba was facing potential retirement from football had CAS upheld his four-year suspension.

Pogba’s appeal took place at CAS’ HQ in Switzerland at the end of August and the player has only recently been informed of the verdict.

The former Manchester United midfielder was hit with the ban after featuring for Juventus in their opening game of the 2023-24 season against Udinese on August 20.

Pogba’s representatives and CAS have yet to comment publicly, but the ruling brings an end to months of uncertainty, allowing the 31-year-old to start planning his football comeback.

Confirming the development on X, Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano, said, “Paul Pogba will be back to action in 2025, confirmed!”
