JNI seeks govt partnership, inclusion in Kwara

The Jama’atul Nasril Islam (JNI), Kwara State Council, has urged the state government to include JNI schools in its ongoing developmental initiatives across the state.

The appeal was made by the State Chairman of the organisation and Emir of Shonga, Dr Haliru Ndanusa Yahaya, during the presentation of educational materials to JNI secondary schools in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

The programme was the first phase of the intervention for JNI schools.

Items distributed include combined desks and chairs for students, tables and chairs for teachers, computers and related accessories, power generating sets, first aid boxes, and various stationery supplies. 

In his remarks, Dr Haliru Yahaya, commended the state government for the recent renovation of three classrooms at the JNI Junior Secondary School in Odo Owa, Ekiti LGA. 

He, however, called on the state Basic Education Board to extend its infrastructural development to include more JNI schools in the ongoing renovation, upgrading, and provision of facilities to schools throughout the state.

The chairman of the occasion, Justice Lambo Akanbi (retd), lauded the educational support initiative, describing it as a crucial intervention that will significantly enhance learning. 

In her address, the Kwara State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu, thanked the JNI for the initiative, which she described as valuable to complement the government’s ongoing efforts to improve the education sector. 

Speaking on behalf of the Emir of Ilorin, Dr Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, the Balogun Alanamu, Dr Usman Atolagbe Abubakar Jos, urged the beneficiaries of the educational materials to take good care of the items and ensure they are properly utilised.
