Ahmadu Bello Foundation donates N20m to Maiduguri flood victims

The Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation (SABMF) has donated N20 million to support flood victims in Maiduguri, Borno State.

Presenting the donation to Babagana Zulum, the state governor, Engineer Abubakar Gambo Umar, Director General of the foundation, expressed his heartfelt sympathy to the governor and the people of Borno State over the disaster.

He conveyed the foundation’s concern regarding the loss of lives, and property, and the significant impact on local businesses caused by the floods.

Engineer Umar reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to supporting the affected communities during this difficult time and prayed for their swift recovery from the devastating effects of the disaster.

“We urge all well-meaning Nigerians and members of the international community to join us in assisting Borno State in its recovery efforts. Together, we can help rebuild lives and restore hope to those affected by this calamity,” he added.

In his response, Governor Zulum expressed his appreciation to the foundation and assured that the amount donated would be judiciously used to ameliorate the suffering of the victims of the recent flood disaster. 

The SABMF delegation also paid a visit to the Shehu of Borno, Dr Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai El Kanemi, and offered their prayers to the victims and the recovery of the state.
