APC N/Central forum to appeal Ganduje’s appointment suit

The North Central APC Forum has vowed to appeal the Federal High Court’s ruling in Abuja, which dismissed its suit seeking the removal of Dr Abdullahi Ganduje as National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The forum had argued that Ganduje’s appointment violated the party’s zoning arrangement and constitution.

However, in his ruling on Monday, Justice Inyang Ekwo dismissed the suit, stating that the North Central APC Forum is not a legally recognised entity and, therefore, lacked the authority to file the suit.

He also noted that the forum had failed to exhaust the party’s internal dispute resolution mechanisms before approaching the court. Ekwo also emphasised that appointing APC officials is an internal party matter, outside the court’s jurisdiction.

Despite the ruling, the forum’s chairman, Saleh Zazzaga, on Tuesday announced plans to appeal, insisting that the court should provide clarity on the zoning arrangement and constitutional violations.

He also criticised certain individuals within the region for prioritising personal interests over collective goals, vowing to address the betrayals.

Earlier reacting to the court’s verdict, Ganduje said, “The claims against me were baseless and the court treated them as such. We do not fear such unfounded litigations.”
