Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have arrested suspects in connection with vote buying in the ongoing governorship election in Edo State.
They also arrested political thugs and party loyalists who were believed to be members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
According to a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Force Headquarters, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the operation followed synchronised raids on identified black spots leading to the arrest of two key suspects, Emotingham Godspower, 25, and Farawei Isaac, 27, all of Ufunama community in Ovia South West Local Government Area of Edo State.
The suspects were arrested at So Cash Guest House in Ekpoma, where cash and other incriminating items were recovered.

The statement added that six other suspects were also arrested at Aibotse Secondary School in Auchi for engaging in vote buying.
Adejobi further noted, “Our team’s meticulous planning and swift action have dealt a significant blow to those seeking to undermine and discredit the electoral process.
“We remain vigilant and committed to ensuring a free, fair, and peaceful election.
“Investigations are ongoing and updates will be provided as events unfold.”
