Phone thief jailed 16 weeks

A Kaduna State magistrates’ court, on Tuesday, sentenced a man, Rabiu Yusuf, to 16 weeks in prison for stealing two iPhones worth N678,000.

The Magistrate, Ibrahim Emmanuel, who sentenced the convict, charged him to desist from any criminal act or face a more stringent punishment.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp Chidi Leo, told the court that the defendant, on September 13, at Kurmin Mashi, Kaduna, stole two iPhones, all valued at N678,000, from the shop of one Ms Zainab Salisu. (NAN)
