Troops have neutralised four bandits and rescued 20 kidnapped persons during two operations in Birnin Gwari and Giwa local government areas of Kaduna State.
Samuel Aruwan, Overseeing Commissioner of the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Kaduna State, stated that troops from Operation Forest Sanity conducted special clearance operations in Alawa, Birnin Gwari LGA.
The troops reportedly spotted bandit movements around Kwaga, and after a brief pursuit, neutralised two bandits. They recovered two AK-47 rifles, three magazines, three motorcycles, and one Baofeng radio.
In a second report, Sector 6 of Operation Whirl Punch carried out patrols around Nakwakina village, Giwa LGA. Acting on credible intelligence, the troops ambushed a suspected terrorists’ withdrawal route.

Additionally, Sector 3 of Operation Whirl Punch, deployed along Kwaga-Polewire Road in Birnin Gwari LGA, responded to a distress call and intercepted bandits who had kidnapped locals near Polewire village.
The bandits were said to have fled upon sighting the troops, who rescued the 20 kidnapped victims and reunited them with their families.
Governor Senator Uba Sani expressed his satisfaction with the reports and thanked the security forces.
