Kano gov’s aide dumps NNPP for APC

Alhaji Sani Abdulkadir Dambo, Special Adviser on Investment to Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, has defected from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Dambo, a former chairman of the Kano State Board of Internal Revenue, made the announcement during a visit to Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I Jibrin, at his Abuja residence on Monday.

In a statement by Ismail Mudashir, the Special Adviser to the Deputy President of the Senate on Media and Publicity, it was noted that Dambo was appointed Special Adviser on Investment by Governor Yusuf on August 13, this year.

Upon joining the APC, Dambo pledged his support to the party both in Kano and nationally. He expressed gratitude for his return to the APC, stating, “I thank Almighty God for guiding me back to our home. I was with the APC before joining the NNPP, and now I am back. I will use my talents and expertise to support the success of the APC.”

Similarly, Alhaji Rabiu Alhassan Durum, another key NNPP figure from Kabo LGA in Kano State, has also joined the APC.

Senator Barau welcomed both politicians to the APC, commending their decision.

He reiterated the APC-led Federal Government’s commitment to addressing national challenges.

“These individuals have shown dedication to the progress of our state and nation, aligning with the APC’s core values and the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he said.
