Happy Eid-El-Maulud to the Muslim Ummah. We thank Almighty Allah for allowing us to see this day that marks the birth of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W).
This day is significant in many respects. It is one of the important holidays in the Islamic calendar. It also marks the arrival of a guiding light, a beacon of hope, and a messenger of mercy. Eid-el-Maulud provides an opportunity for the Muslim Ummah to reflect on the Prophet’s life of compassion, kindness, selflessness, and his message which transcends boundaries and unites people across cultures and generations.
This celebration comes at a time of severe economic stress in many households. Our nation is grappling with economic difficulties occasioned by years of mismanagement. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led Federal Government has taken bold social and economic measures whose immediate impact is expectedly painful and stressful. This is not unexpected because enduring economic development is not a destination but an incremental process. With patience and sustained support for the Federal Government, our economy would bounce back and the socio-economic conditions of our people would improve.
As you reflect on the Prophet’s teachings and legacy at this Maulud, please join me as I lead the charge in rural transformation and rebuilding of trust and care in our communities, irrespective of religion and ethnicity.
My dear brothers and sisters in the faith, I urge you to emulate the Prophet’s life of compassion, kindness, selflessness, patience, and perseverance. Imbibe his message which transcends boundaries, and unites people across cultures and generations. I call on you to continue praying for the success of measures being taken by governments at all levels to root out poverty, hunger and insecurity and restore peace and harmony in Nigeria.
Happy Eid-El-Maulud
