Woman shot dead in presence of hubby, children in Kogi

Gunmen suspected to be hired assassins have reportedly killed a petty business woman, Mrs. Rose Eneojoh at Etikpolo- Anyigba in Dekina LGA of Kogi State.

City & Crime gathered that three suspected assassins drove to  the woman’s residential house around 8 pm on Wednesday and shot her in the presence of her husband and five children.

According to the locals , the gunmen said to be three in number  and armed to the teeth,  drove into her compound furiously, identified her and shot her after disclosing their mission.

The victim, a mother of five, was reportedly targeted by her assailants, who said they were paid the sum of N350,000 to kill her.

“The killers disclosed their mission to Mrs. Eneojoh and her husband, informing them of the amount they were paid to kill her. Desperate to save her life, the deceased reportedly offered them the same amount of money in exchange for her safety.

“Tragically, despite accepting the money, the gunmen proceeded to shoot and killed Mrs. Eneojoh, leaving her husband and five young children devastated,” a family member, Charles Umoru, said.

A resident of the area, Haruna Amodu said, “The woman sold cooked maize and other petty things in front of my workshop in the town. She offered her assassins the sum of N261,000 cash, her ATM card and pin. They collected it and went ahead to shoot her. She died immediately.”

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, SP Williams Aya, said he would reach out to the police command in the area to get the details of the incident and referred back but did not up till the time of filing the report yesterday.
