Police place commanders on alert in Niger

The police command in Niger State has directed its commanders to engage the public in intelligence gathering and responsive policing as the yuletide season approaches.

This was contained in a statement on Tuesday issued by SP Wasiu Abiodun, the command’s spokesman.

Abiodun said the measure was a strategy to secure lives and property in the Ember Months.

He said that the Commissioner of Police (CP) in the state, Shawulu Danmamman, directed area commanders, tactical commanders and DPOs to put in place robust crime preventive measures. (NAN)
