100,000kg of hemp destroyed in Ekiti forest

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the Nigerian Army have destroyed over 100,000kg of Indian hemp spread across 51 hectares in three camps in the Ise-Ekiti Forest Reserve in Ise-Orun LGA of Ekiti State.

NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, in a statement, said the camps affected were in Aba Saalaja, with 23 hectares; Aba Paanu with 12 hectares and Aba Arogunmatidi with 16 hectares.

He said NDLEA operatives, supported by the army, on September 3 and 4, stormed the three camps. He added that operatives were on the trail of the suspects.
