The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, has said a united approach to global challenges for development benefits everyone.
He made the remarks while speaking at the 2024 cross-continental Forum held in Bali, Indonesia on September 1st and 2nd.
Represented by the member representing Idemili North and South Federal Constituency of Anambra State, Rep. Uche Okonkwo as head of the Nigeria delegation to the Forum said that solutions are harnessed from multiple knowledge and experiences through a united approach.
Speaker Abbas commended the history and purpose that inspired the establishment of the Indonesia/Africa Parliamentary Forum (IAPF).

He described it as an admirable footprint of our common development heritage, a great challenges resolver, and mutual risks mitigator for all countries involved which he said IAPF offers in rich abundance.
The speaker said he was happy that the theme and focus for this year was on practical sustainable options to overcome real bottlenecks to our greater humanity, in critical areas such as food security, education, health and production investments.
He reiterated Nigeria’s deep commitment to the rule of law, respect to international conventions and obligations, fidelity to multilateral institutions and laws governing trades and commerce, culture and religion without compromise.
He added, “The relationship between Nigeria and Indonesia particularly, has been most cordial and fruitful in different dimensions. It bears testimony to much more that is very possible, which we should strive and reinforce continuously and optimally.
The speaker’s representative added that he brings the best compliments of Nigeria and the Speaker, Abbas Tajudeen to the people and parliament of Indonesia with high regards.
