A former senator from Borno State, Baba Kaka Bashir Garbai, has lost his mother.
The deceased, Hajia Zainaba, died Tuesday.
Her funeral prayers (Janazah) has been fixed for 4:00 pm at the Shehu of Borno’s Palace, Maiduguri.
Garbai, a prince who represented Borno Central in the 8th Senate, confirmed the news of her passing in a post on X.
He wrote, “It is with deep sorrow and total submission to the will of Allah (SWT), I regret to announce the passing of my beloved mother, Hajia Zainaba.
“The funeral prayers will be held at the Shehu of Borno’s Palace, Maiduguri, at 4:00 PM.
“May Almighty Allah grant her Jannatul Firdaus”, he added.
Meanwhile, the president of the 8th Senate, Dr Bukola Saraki, has offered his condolences over the development.
Saraki in a statement he personally signed and sent by Yusuph Olaniyonu, his media aide, described this period as “difficult time” for the family.
“I offer my heartfelt condolences to my dear friend, Senator Baba Kaka Bashir Garbai, and his family on the passing of his beloved mother, Hajja Zainaba.
May Almighty Allah (SWT) grant her a place in Al Jannah Firdaus and provide comfort and strength to the Garbai family during this difficult time”, Saraki added.
