Operatives of the FCT Police Command have impounded 29 vehicles with covered number plates and those without number plates in Abuja.
The FCT Commissioner of Police (CP), Benneth Igweh, who disclosed to this newsmen on Thursday, said the action followed a warning the command issued last month to motorists, especially private vehicle owners, to desist from covering their vehicles’ numbers and also driving without numbers on their cars.
He also disclosed that 106 suspects were arrested during a raid on some criminal hideouts across the territory.

CP Igweh, who paraded the suspects, said the raid was conducted by operatives from Life Camp, Kubwa, Gwagwalada, Kabusa, Asokoro, Gwarimpa and Wuye divisions on Wednesday.
He said some quantity of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, knives and drugs were recovered during the raid.
