A Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Lagos on Monday ordered the remand of a 65-year-old man, Idris Danladi, for allegedly defiling a one-year-old girl.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Patrick Adekomaiya, ordered that Danladi should be remanded in the Awarjigoh Correctional Centre, Badagry, after he pleaded not guilty to the one count charge of defilement.
He adjourned the case to October 9, for ruling in the bail application filed by Danladi and for legal advice from the office of the Director of Public Prosecution.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Ayodele Adeosun, told the court that Danladi committed the offence on August 9 at the back of Customs Quarters, Seme Border, Badagry, Lagos.
