Since coming on board three years ago, on August 14th, 2021 – the station has won several awards including industry-based and other recognitions by reputable organisations.

Speaking at the event held within the premises of the company’s corporate headquarters in Abuja, Media Trust Group Chief Executive Officer, Ahmed Ibrahim Shekarau, said the management was happy and proud of the feat the television arm of the company had recorded so far while assuring that the  Trust TV will hit DSTV very soon.

He said, “We feel really proud. We are happy that we are where we are today; the journey has been quite tough, but we really appreciate the tremendous sacrifices of the staff and we wish to reassure them that like they say, a journey of a thousand miles begins with a step. We are quite confident that pretty soon, we will be on DSTV because a lot of them are excited to see us on DSTV and I assure them that we are engaging with Multichoice and soon we will be there.”

In his remarks, the Chief Operating Officer of Trust TV, Ibrahim Shehu Adamu, said the past three years have been rewarding, as its audience continues to grow, adding that the station is determined to keep improving and expanding its reach, aiming to compete at the highest level.

“The last three years have been fulfilling. We are just starting and we are expanding our platforms. Our audiences are growing, so we will continue to do better and reach different audiences because the Trust TV tagline is ‘Documenting the Nigerian Story’.

“But basically, we just don’t want to sit in the studios and talk; we want to go to the hinterlands, cities, and villages and tell the difficult stories that don’t often come on TV. So, we have been doing that and we will continue to do that and expand our audience base.

“Three years is just a starting point for a young television like ours and we think we are doing well and will continue to improve so that we can get to that level and compete at the highest level,’’ he added.

Also speaking, Group Executive Director, Finance and Investment, Nura Daura, noted that it’s been a successful journey so far, and reiterated that the TV arm of the company is competing with industry key players and leaders.

“It has been a success all the way and we believe it is just the beginning. In some years to come, the company through the television arm will compete with those that are very well known in the industry today. So, I would like to congratulate all of us, especially the staff of Trust TV for this feat.”

At three, the station reiterated it is not just celebrating its accomplishments, but also expressing gratitude to its viewers, dedicated team, and supportive partners.

The station said in the years ahead, it would remain dedicated to its mission of delivering trustworthy and impactful contents that resonate with audiences both near and far.
