A man simply identified as Buba, believed to be a beggar, has been found dead by the road side around the BCGA Bridge on Kontagora-Zuru Road in Kontagora LGA of Niger State.
Residents of Kontagora told City & Crime that the man hailed from Bangi, the headquarters of Magama LGA of the state.
City & Crime was told that his remains were deposited at the Kontagora General Hospital’s mortuary.
Contacted, the spokesperson for the Niger State Police Command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the incident.

He said: “On 14/8/2024 at about 0830hrs, based on a report at A Div Kgora, that one beggar aged about 70, whose identity is yet to be known was found lying unconscious at Kwanar-Zuru bridge in Kgora.
“The police operatives attached to A Div Kgora visited the scene. The body was examined and no sign of violence seen on the body, while the LGA social welfare officials were contacted and the body was removed to the general hospital where he was confirmed dead.
“Further examination of the body is ongoing at the hospital to ascertain the cause of the death.”
