NGF president hosts IBB Ladies Golf Section retreat

The President of the Nigeria Golf Federation, Otunba Olusegun Runsewe hosted the IBB Ladies Golf Section Retreat at the prestigious Golf and Health Signature (GHS) facility in Abuja.

Set in a serene environment, the GHS offers world-class amenities, including a state-of-the-art golf training centre, a golf museum with a rich and unique storyline, an exhibition hall, six indoor golf suites, tennis and badminton courts, a gym, a swimming pool, and various health and wellness equipment.

Speaking to newsmen during the retreat, Runsewe expressed his honour in hosting the IBB Ladies Section at the impressive facility.

“First and foremost, I’ll like to commend the IBB LGS for being unique, taking the initiative and bringing innovation into the golfing community.

“The Retreat is unique and I commend them. That’s why I am giving them all the support for this to be successful.

“Only when Nigerians go abroad do they have this kind of opportunity to organise a Retreat for playing golf, but today I am excited it’s happening right in Abuja.

“Golf is no more manual. It is an IT-based sport and why most of us don’t play good golf is because it is all about your body adapting to the tenets and techniques of the game, and once you get that right, it sticks forever.

“Most of us started playing golf between the ages 45 and 50 years when the body is already stiff. You can imagine that there is no single Nigerian playing golf in any circuit anywhere in the world.

“This facility is a unique one that will change that history line as it boasts of a world-class training environment, equipment and provisions one requires for proper golfing. So, what I want to achieve right here in this facility is to start grooming Nigerian pros that will go on to become the Tiger Woods of the future,” he said.
