I wish to commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the significant progress achieved so far, notably in the areas of subsidy reform and local government autonomy.
Nevertheless, I am compelled to express my concern regarding the presence of certain individuals within the inner circle of his government, as exemplified by a recent video featuring one of his minister’s disparaging remarks against your predecessor and the APC, which has circulated widely on social media.
This incident risks tarnishing the reputation of the administration, and I respectfully urge the president to maintain a safe distance from such individuals to preserve the integrity and cohesion of the government.
Furthermore, I wish to bring to your attention the alarming level of hate-mongering on social media and in public discourse. This must be addressed, and offenders held accountable. No ethnic group should be singled out for profiling or hateful rhetoric, as we are one nation under the national colours and constitution. I urge you to:
- Nguroje urges Masari to invest in research, reposition TETFund
- NAMB president seeks roles for MFBs in social intervention funds’ disbursement
– The president should task the National Orientation Agency to collaborate with state ministries of youth and social development to form cultural organisations at various levels, promoting inclusivity and resolving social misunderstandings.
-Declare a national emergency and Zero Tolerance policy on hate-mongering, employing law enforcement agencies to identify and address erring individuals.
Nigeria faces numerous challenges and cannot afford to create new ones through hate-mongering. I hope this letter receives due attention from your office.
