An Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court, on Tuesday, remanded a 52-year-old man, Emmanuel Manyan, in a correctional facility over alleged rape of a 13-year-old girl.
The defendant, whose address was not provided, is being charged with rape.
The prosecutor, Insp Olasunkanmi Bamikole, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on July 21, at Osan-Ekiti.
Bamikole said that Manyan gave the victim some money, lured her into the bush and raped her.

The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Section 265 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.
The prosecutor urged the court to remand the defendant in a correctional centre, pending legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecution.
The plea of the defendant was, however, not taken.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Saka Afunso, remanded the defendant in a correctional centre in Ado-Ekiti, pending the issuance of legal advice.
He adjourned the case until September 2, for mention. (NAN)
