Officials of the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit have raided blackspots and arrested 124 alleged drug peddlers and abusers.
The team, led by CAP Adetayo Akerele, raided a black spot at Amikanle area of Agbado-Oke-Odo LCDA in Alimosho LGA.
The Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, disclosed this on his X handle.
He said the operation which was carried out following a Save Our Soul received by the government officials, was escalated to other parts of the city.

Wahab said exhibits recovered from the blackspot include, “Substances suspected to be Indian hemp, colorado and several bottles of codeine syrup.”
His post reads, “Acting on a credible intelligence received in the form of SOS, the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit led by CAP Adetayo Akerele, yesterday (Saturday), carried out raid operation at a black spot at Amikanle area of Agbado-Oke-Odo LCDA in Alimosho LGA. 124 suspected drug peddlers, abusers and criminal elements were arrested.
“Exhibits recovered from the blackspot include substances suspected to be Indian hemp, colorado and several bottles of codeine syrup.’’
