Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi prays for rebuilding of pioneer Islamic school

Renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, has prayed for the success of his former students’ efforts to rebuild their alma mater, Madrasatul Markazuqqafuyyil Islamiyyi.

The school, founded by Sheikh Bauchi in the early 1950s, served as a centre for learning, discipline, and Islamic activities in Bauchi.

Sheikh Bauchi, represented by the Chairman of the Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi Foundation, Sayyadi Ibrahim Sheikh Dahiru, offered prayers in Bauchi during a tour of the plot of land where the oldest building of the school once stood.

The building was demolished and cleared by the former students as part of their effort to start the rebuilding process.

The rebuilding project, led by the Markaz Old Boys Association (MOBA), aims to raise N250 million.

Sheikh Bauchi commended the old students for their dedication and commitment, praying for Allah’s guidance and abundant rewards for their efforts.

He also appealed to government agencies, charity organisations, individuals, and the Muslim Ummah to donate towards the project’s success.

Mallam Lawal Muhammed Bajoga, Chairman of the Building Subcommittee of the association, said the project, estimated at N250 million, will include classrooms, offices, a mosque, and an assembly hall in its first phase, followed by hostel accommodations, toilets, and staff quarters in the second phase.
