Knocks as Davido launches own social media app After failed crypto project

Nigerian Afrobeat singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has launched a new social media app called Chatter.

This comes weeks after the musician’s failed crypto token or memecoin.

Daily Trust had reported how the digital currency, known as “Timeless Davido” ($DAVIDO), sparked excitement among the singer’s fans and supporters.

Davido worked with the main blockchain platforms Phantom and Solana to complete his proposal.

Initially, $DAVIDO skyrocketed, hitting a market cap of $10 million in four hours and gaining momentum on DEX Screener.

The jubilation was short-lived, as the coin’s value dropped.

However, on Friday, Davido launched his own social media application called Chatter.

In a post via X handle on Friday, he stated that he and his close friend Sir Banko are the owners of the app.

The singer shared information about Chatter, a social audiovisual utility platform that connects content creators to a lively community and helps magnify their voices.

Meanwhile, netizens took the comment section of the post to condemn the music star over the new development.

@Homiebishop: “U don start again. 500k wey I lost for $Davido never do you abi.”

@TheBoykayy: “na every time you de advertise one app or another.”

@fwbadpaul_: “Hope say we no go put money again for this one again?”
