Realtor places late journalist’s daughter on free education, widow on stipends

A real estate entrepreneur based in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Ambassador Babatunde Adeyemo, has pledged to sponsor the education of the 16-year-old Miss Mokesioluwa, daughter of a late journalist, Wale Adewunmi, up to the university level.

City & Crime reports that the late Adewunmi, who was the Chairman of the Correspondents Chapel, Ogun State NUJ Council, died last week from an illness.

Adeyemo, a journalist turned realtor, paid a condolence visit to the late Adewunmi’s family and declared support to lessen the burden of the loss on the family.

He also placed the widow, Mrs Titilope Adewunmi, on a stipend of N25,000 for the next six months.

He further pledged to provide free medicare to them for the next 12 months.

Adeyemo, who is the CEO of Pelican Valley Nigeria Limited, Pelican Brief Estate, Pelican Ecostay Apartments and Pelican Greenish Acre Farm Estate, said the gesture would be executed through the auspices of the Oko Opo Foundation, a charitable organisation that was established to support widows, children and the downtrodden.

Adeyemo, who was accompanied by his wife, Mrs Titilayo Adeyemo, and the directors of the foundation, also provided food items to the family.
