Two men have been apprehended with two AK-47 rifles in a motor park opposite the First Bank branch in Abaji Area Council of the FCT.
A witness, who is a member of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), at the park, who preferred anonymity, said the two men were arrested on Monday around 2pm by soldiers guarding the bank.
He said the two men who came to board a vehicle at the park, claimed to be travelling to Nasarawa State.
He further said, “It was one of the soldiers who sighted the luggage one of them was carrying and became suspicious. He went straight to the park and asked the man to come down from the vehicle to open the sack, from where the two guns were found.”

He said the two men while being interrogated by the soldier claimed to be hunters.
He said the suspects were taken to the army check point in the area for further interpretation.
A police officer in the area said, “As at Tuesday, the two suspects were still with the soldiers at their checkpoint and they would be handed over to the police today.”
The spokeswoman of the FCT Police Command, SP Adeh Josephine, said she would find out about the arrest.
