The Agro Marshals in Ekiti State have arrested one Ayodele Ajele for allegedly attempting to rape a 61-year-old woman who he claims he extremely loves.
City & Crime learnt that the man was arrested in Ijero-Ekiti when he was about to commit the crime.
The commander of the corps, Mr Johnson Oni, said, “When the victim was interviewed, he said his reason was that he loved the woman. He tore her clothes and inner wears which were made available as exhibits. He also attempted to murder the woman with a knife while trying to rape her. He told the officers that he used Indian hemp, and pills before attempting to rape the woman.”
The commander also paraded a prophet and three other suspects over drug trafficking and rape of a minor.
He gave the names of the suspects as Emmanuel Abimbola, Sunday Abiodun, Ajewole Olamilekan and Promise Odife,
Oni noted that Emmanuel Abimbola, a self-acclaimed prophet, was arrested in Eda-Ile for allegedly attacking an officer of the corps, who was currently receiving treatment in the hospital.
The commander further said the suspects would be handed over to the police.
