Three female hawkers have been arrested by troops for allegedly being bandits’ informants in Dogon-Daji community in Kagarko LGA of Kaduna State.
A resident, Yakubu Ishaku, said the suspects were arrested on Thursday when the troops raided some areas around the community and neighbouring Kadara village.
He said the suspects, who hawked honey, were arrested after receiving intelligence information from an informant that was arrested two weeks ago in the area.
A community leader who preferred anonymity, also confirmed the arrest of the three female hawkers, saying, “It is true; three women were arrested by soldiers around Dogon-Daji village last week. And I was shocked that these girls who hawked honey by the road could also be informants to bandits.”
