Nigeria has been monetized by Facebook, indicating he can now earn money from ad revenue as the country has become eligible.
Meta, Facebook’s parent company, ticked Nigeria blue in the professional dashboard, on Thursday.
Before now, content creators with Nigerian addresses were not eligible for Facebook monetisation unless they had a page management based in an eligible country.
Following the development, creators in Nigeria can now monetise their content and earn money through Facebook in-stream ads, live ads, ads on reels, bonuses and subscriptions.

Daily Trust had reported how Meta’s President of Global Affairs, Sir Nick Clegg, specifically said Instagram, another social media platform owned by Meta, will soon introduce a feature that will allow Nigerian creators monetize their content.
Clegg said this in March when he led a delegation from Meta Platforms Incorporated to President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
This led to numerous debates whether Facebook would be part of the monetization plan.
Meta later confirmed monetization will be rolled out for both Instagram and Facebook.
The payment gateway for Nigerian creators hasn’t been communicated, but netizens are joyful as it’s just two days to the end of June.
