Speaking at the South-South APC conference in Calabar on Sunday, Akpabio said it was important to mobilise support through prayers and active participation to secure victory in Edo State.
“For those of you from Edo State and the entire South-South region, in the upcoming September 2024 election, we must all converge on Edo with prayers and every resource available because we are determined to defeat Obaseki,” Akpabio declared.

The Senate president predicted imminent victory for the APC, foreseeing the emergence of a second APC governor in the South-South region.
“Your Excellency, Governor Otu, your days of isolation are over. Today, we have a governor in Cross River State, who is demonstrating leadership through tangible achievements. It is not just about promises but tangible results that benefit the people,” he said.
