A man has been shot dead by suspected armed robbers who invaded Volcano Peak Court Hotel on 4th Avenue, Gwarimpa Estate, Abuja in the FCT
A witness, Issac Moses, said the incident happened around 3am on Saturday when the robbers, four in number, emerged from a car and invaded the hotel amid sporadic shooting.
He said one of the occupants of the rooms in the hotel rushed out of his room in order to escape when one of the robbers shot him dead on the spot.
He said the robbers who operated for about 15 minutes fled the scene after dispossessing occupants of their valuables.

The spokeswoman of the FCT Police Command, SP Adeh Josephine, confirmed the incident in a statement, saying the command at about 5am received a distress call of a robbery incident at the hotel and that operatives from the Gwarimpa Division moved to the scene and discovered that one Bashir Dauda had already been shot by the attackers.
She further said, “So, the victim was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Jabi where doctors confirmed him dead.”
