The Ohimegye of Opanda-Umaisha in Toto LGA of Nasarawa State, Alhaji Usman Abdullahi, has said that his people will never forgive those responsible for attacks on some communities in his chiefdom, describing the attackers as “enemies of peace.”
Alhaji Usman, who was speaking with newsmen shortly after he joined other Muslims at the Eid ground to observe the two raka’at prayers on Sunday, said it was sad that some of his subjects in Katakpa, Shege, Daza and Ugya communities had been killed while others displaced as several houses across such rural communities under his chiefdom were destroyed by the invaders.
He said, “By the grace of God, sooner or later, those behind such attacks across villages under my chiefdom will surely face the consequences of their actions, because our interest is to ensure peace and development of Umaisha Chiefdom.”
The monarch, while calling on his subjects to devote their time to farming activities, urged youths to continue to be law-abiding to constituted authorities.

He stressed that they should live in peace with one another irrespective of tribe, ethnicity and religious affiliations, even as he called on politicians to keep their differences aside in the interest of peace and development.
Also speaking, a former Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, commended the monarch for ensuring peace and harmony among his subjects.
He called on the people of Umaisha to continue to give support to the monarch, even as he disclosed that the Senator representing Nasarawa West, Aliyu Wada, was sponsoring bills for the establishment of a school of fisheries and establishment of a naval base in Umaisha Chiefdom.
