Seven months after Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State promised to pay some members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) N245,000 for their dedication, they are yet to receive it.
The governor had promised corps members serving in public schools across the state N245,000 each as welfare package, but the promise is yet to be fulfilled.
The breakdown of the package shows that the corps members would get N50,000 as medical allowance, N75,000 as housing allowance and N120,000 as stipend.

Kefas made the pledge for welfare package through his through his Commissioner for Information and Re-orientation.
According to the commissioner, the governor approved the package for all corps members serving in the state as part of his efforts to boost education in the state.
Contacted, the state commissioner of information, Barrister Zainab Usman Jalingo, said all the corps members whose names were submitted got paid, save for those who had passed out at the time the promise was made, adding that there were plans to pay those in that category.
The commissioner further asked those who were not captured to report to the NYSC coordinator so that they could be captured.
