The Bayelsa State Government has suspended Mr Moses Oguro Monday, the Principal of Community Secondary School, Ikolo, Yenagoa LGA, over negligence of duty and misconduct.
Daily Trust reports that during an inspection of schools in rural areas of the state, the Commissioner for Education, Dr Gentle Emelah, announced the suspension of the principal for three months without salary.
In a positive development, the commissioner offered automatic employment to Mr Agah Somfieme, a mathematics teacher who, despite being a casual staff member, was found diligently performing his duties during the visit.
Dr Emelah directed all teachers who were absent during the inspection to report to the Ministry of Education on Wednesday, June 12, 2024.

He criticised the level of neglect as unacceptable, especially since the government had provided a befitting teachers’ quarters for their accommodation needs.
