Terrorists attack military base, injure two soldiers in Niger

Two soldiers were injured in a terrorist attack on a military base in Tegina, Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State. 

The incident was said to have happened in the early hours of Monday during a gun duel between the soldiers and the bandits.

It was gathered that one of the bandits’ leaders was killed in the gun duel.

It was further learned that the terrorists were moving towards Mashegu and Wushishi local government areas when they launched the attack.

Alhaji Ayuba Usman Katako, Chairman of Rafi local government council, confirmed the incident, saying the injured soldiers were receiving treatment at IBB Specialist Hospital in Minna.

Katako urged communities to offer prayers and provide useful information to support security agencies in combating the attackers.
