Poly students advised to shun drugs, internet fraud

Students of The Polytechnic Iresi, Osun State, have been advised to shun drugs and internet fraud popularly known as ‘Yahoo-Yahoo’.

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The Polytechnic Iresi, Dr. Oludaisi Aina, gave the charge while inaugurating an initiative tagged “Operation No Yahoo” in the institution.

Aina said the initiative was designed to train, develop and support students of the polythetic and youths in the community in productive ventures that will better their lives and the society.

Aina called on the chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brigadier General Buba Marwa, to do more on enlightening youths on the dangers of use and abuse of illicit drugs and other dangerous substances.

He also warned students to be wary of “get rich quick” syndrome, saying that such could push them into criminal activities and thereafter ruin their future.
