Hajj: Kano Gov’t establishes own clinic at Makkah

Kano State Government has established clinics for its pilgrims in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, in an effort to provide adequate medical care.

Daily Trust reports that there are 3110 pilgrims from the state in this year’s hajj.

The clinic, according to the Head of Media team for Kano pilgrims, Ibrahim Garba Shu’aibu is aimed at complementing the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) clinic.

“NAHCON officials have visited the site and given their approval for the clinic to operate” She noted.

She noted that Kano is the only state in Nigeria that NAHCON approved to open the clinic for its pilgrims in Makkah.

The pilgrims will spend several days in Makkah performing various rituals, including circumambulating the Kaaba, praying at the Grand Mosque, and sacrificing animals.

The Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam and is considered a once-in-a-lifetime obligation for Muslims who are physically and financially able to perform it.
