Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has revealed that Dangote Group of Companies have concluded plans to establish one of the biggest rice mills in the state, targeting 500,000 metric tons of rice paddy.
Bago said the mill would be located between Wushishi and Bida local government areas.
He disclosed this during a lecture to celebrate his one-year in office, held at the Justice Idris Legbo Kutigi International Conference Centre, Minna.

Governor Bago said he had had a discussion with the President of the Dangote Group of Companies, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, in Lagos, adding that Niger State will soon take delivery of five hundred 40ft empty containers from Dangote.
According to him, the containers would be used to establish farm estates across the state for the actualisation of his agricultural initiative of ensuring food security.
