A 45-year-old man, Joseph Jimoh and a 55-year-old woman, Helen Bada, were on Thursday docked in an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for allegedly abducting a 12-year-old girl.
The defendants were alleged to have conspired to commit felony to wit: abduction.
Insp John Iberedem, the prosecutor, said the defend-ants committed the offence in the Ejigbo area of La-gos State on Jan. 27, 2023.
He said that the defendants abducted the 12-year-old girl, daughter of Felix Anyigor following an alterca-tion.

The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Sections 268 and 411 of the Criminal Laws of La-gos State, 2015. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that section 268 stipulates seven years imprisonment for anyone found guilty of abduction of a girl under the age of 18 years.
However, each of the defendants pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Magistrate E. Kubeinje admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N250,000 each with two sureties each in the like sum.
She said that the sureties must be gainfully em-ployed and must show proof of tax payment and verification of address.
She adjourned the case until June 25, for hearing. (NAN)
