Tinubu approves free ride on Abuja Metro rail till December 31

President Bola Tinubu has approved free ride on the newly commissioned Abuja Rail Transport System till the end of the year.

Speaking during the commissioning of the project in Abuja on Wednesday as part of the commemoration of his one year in office, Tinubu hailed Nyesom Wike, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, for what he described as the “speedy completion of the project”.

Before now, Wike had announced that the Abuja Light rail will operate freely for two months.

Wike stated this during a ministerial press briefing in Abuja. He had said the free rides would commence on Tuesday, adding that it is part of the president’s renewed hope agenda for residents of the FCT.

However, during the commissioning Ceremony the President said the free ride will last till the end of the year.
