The Katsina State governor, Mallam Dikko Umaru Radda, has launched the distribution of 400,000 bags of fertiliser to farmers ahead of this year’s rainy season.
During the flag-off ceremony held at the Katsina Government House on Monday, the governor announced that the fertiliser, worth over N20 billion, was procured by the state government in collaboration with the 34 local government areas (LGAs) of the state and would be sold to farmers at a subsidised rate.
At the event, Governor Radda also inaugurated the distribution of motorcycles and knapsack sprayers to 772 co-opted local government staff, who will serve as extension agents.
He said the effort was part of his administration’s commitment to agricultural development and empowerment across the state, reaffirming his dedication to transforming the agricultural landscape.
